Solar Transition for Midsize Recycling Center
A midsize Recycling firm faced rising energy costs and a growing need for increased power. Origin Clean Power Solutions Limited implemented a comprehensive solar power solution, tailored to the firm’s specific energy needs. By introducing solar panels on their roof and a two and a half acre land array, the company reduced its energy expenses by 40% and increased its sustainability. Enhanced EPC Report
Facing the challenge of low EPC grades a landlord who leases Industrial units to tenants engaged OCPS to review their existing units. The challenge they faced was improving the EPC grade in Industrial buildings which are inherently difficult to realise good EPC grades . OCPS surveyed the site and recommended a mix of improvements including, solar, air source heat pumps, secondary glazing, wall insulation and air tightness survey. On average the EPC grades improved from E,G to a B rating, the next stage of the development the landlord engaged a mechanical electrical consultant to cost out the measures for the future works.
Creating value from Organic Waste
Working with OCPS the Materials Process Institute has developed a full test facility for companies who wish to identify or recognise organic waste streams that could be converted into high grade Biochar or Carbon Black. Biochar or Carbon Black can be made from most organic wastes but not are all obvious. The institute can work with you to identify the value of your waste stream and support you with processing the waste into an enhanced Biochar or Carbon Black, a valuable and environmentally responsible product, The Institute are also well placed to source funding options for studies into waste conversion works for you as we are heavily linked to UKRI Support Funding mechanisms
